Alice film festival "Through the Looking Glass" in Amsterdam, Netherlands until January!

The programme includes the very first Alice in Wonderland film adaptation dating from 1903, next to the well-known Disney animation of 1951 as well as Tim Burton’s 3D reinterpretation of the Disney film, made in 2010 … on behalf of the same Disney company
The programme also includes films by directors who were directly or indirectly inspired by the story of a little girl that crawls into a rabbit hole and finds herself in a world where animals can speak and a riddle best remains a riddle.
Talking with fantasy creatures and being able to move in an alien world without any effort: Terry Gilliam, Lana and Lilly Wachowski, and Roman Polanski they all found Carroll’s ‘fall into the rabbit hole’ irresistible as well.

Alice film festival "Through the Looking-Glass" begins in Amsterdam, Netherlands this month at Eyefilm Museum.

The 8 film festival features alongside Alice: The Virtual Reality play, a VR experience.

1903, 1951 disney, 1988 Jan Svankmajer and 2010 burton will all be screening alongside more unusual picks such as Wild at Heart (1990) Che? (1972) The Matrix (1999) and Tideland (2006)

Like ACMI's Alice is everywhere festival, this film festival is for an adult audience and features  subversive down the rabbit hole trope films.

Starts 22nd of december, ends 5th of January!
