Teatro di Sacco's Alicia is... a thing
Whilst searching through Alice related things on YouTube (and trying to find any previously unheard of TV, film, or theatre gems) I managed to find a TV broadcast of an outdoor Italian theatre adaptation from 1986. It appears to be filmed in low quality and might have been for public access TV.
The show appears to be going for a Commedia Dell'arte approach, which explains the makeup of the White Rabbit and the Hatter.
I don't know if the adaptation is strange or if it is just me not knowing enough about Italian theatre tradition.
It is notable (for lack of a better term) for its bizarre structure (there isn't an ending at all, and Alice crosses no portal) and also odd performances (The actor playing the White Rabbit screams his lines.)
Its on Youtube in full if you're curious :)
